LED Strip for Compact Vending Machines – USI / Selectivend , Genesis, Gaines, Cosmic, TNC, etc.

This new LED strip is an ideal replacement for compact vending machines made by USI / Selectivend, Genesis, Gaines, Cosmic, TNC, 1-800 Vending, HealthyYOU, Seaga, etc.

Offered is a new LED strip designed to replace a failed LED stip in a compact vending machine. This LED strip is 1 1/4” wide, 1 3/8” tall and 13 1/4” long with an 8” harnesses. This strip has 2 rows of LEDs for a total of 72 LEDs. It is as bright as longer strips with a single row of LEDs.

The recommended instuctions for replacing a existing LED strips are as follows:

  1. Turn off power at the machine.
  2. Look at the new LED strip and confirm the power switch is set to the “ON” postion. The dash is flat and circle upwards.
  3. One at a time, cut the 2 wires at the origianl strip. Using wire stripers, remove a ½ inch of the wire insulation.
  4. Connect the 2 wires from the new strip to the machines harness. We suggest a linesman splice. In some cases, the wires of the machine’s harness will also be black and red but this is not always the case. If the machine harness has a black wire, it should be connected to the black wire of the LED strip. Once the wires are connected, slide the yellow heat shrink tube down the two wires to cover the splice.
  5. Turn the power on to the machine to see if the new strip lights up. If the new strip lights turns on, then turn the power off to the machine. Then, using a heat gun or lighter, shink the tubing. If the strip does not light up, turn the power off and swap the position of the two wires and then restore power. In the event the new strip still does not light up with either set of connections, then there is an issue with the machine’s wiring or power suppply.
  6. Once the proper connection has been verifed, mount the new strip using the double sided tape supplied. The original strip may need to be removed to make space.

Tech Tip: A standard 9V radio battery can be used to test the strip. The red wire is postivie so it is connected to the smaller terminal of the battery. The black wire is negative/ground so it connects to the larger connector. The strip will be very dim due to low voltage but you wll be able to verify it works and the power switch is in the “ON” position.
