LED Strips for Soda Vending
Machines with Plexi Sign Face

LED Strips are designed to offer the following benefits:

The LED Strips are designed to provide enough light to adequately illuminate a sign face.  The standard and mega size LED Strips have clear LEDs rated at 20,000 mcd with a 120 degree viewing angle.  The goal was to provide enough light and to keep the LED Strip affordable.  The design of the sign face makes a big difference in appearance; the more white area, the better the light.  Darker colors block more light and are not as bright.

The primary objective when designing the LED Strip is to save energy.  An optional green LED indicator lamp can also be installed to indicate to customers that the machine is working.

Installation is easy as the strips have a magnetic strip.  The mounting method varies by model.  Many vendor models have enough metal surface area and the strip can be placed on the metal.  In some cases it may be advantageous to fabricate metal panels if the strips need to be mounted in the center area of the machine.

The following describes installation in a soda vending machine originally equipped with two vertical F40T12 bulbs (see farther below for photos):

• Unplug machine

• Remove both fluorescent bulbs

• Unplug the connector that supplies 120vac to the ballast

• Connect the splitter adapter to the 120v supply; you will now have 3 open connectors

The LED Strips can be easily mounted by attaching them to the side metal wall on most vendors.  In other vendors they can be mounted to larger flat metal surfaces.  Use tie straps to secure power cords neatly behind the LED Strips.

• Connect the LED Strips to the splitter

You will have one open connector that is available for an optional highly visible green LED indicator to be mounted near validator.

• Review your work to be sure the power cords will not be pinched when the barrier door is closed

• Attach included label to front of machine to indicate LED lighting is in use

LED Strips for Soda Vendors with Plexi Sign Face

LED Strips for Soda Vendors with sign face plexis can be ordered individually or as part of prepackaged kits.  The prepackaged kits are assembled for the most common vendors.  Individual strips are offered for less popular machines.  If you need an LED Strip for a machine not listed, just let us know.  At this time the longest strip offered is 40 inches.  The goal of the strips is to save electricity.  The light produced is not the same as a fluorescent bulb but is adequate for most applications.  If the sign face is primarily white, LED Strips work very well.  In some cases a diffuser may be needed.

The LED Strips for soda vending machines have a standard connector.  The standard connector fits both Dixie Narco and Royal Vendors.  When LED Strips are installed in Vendo, Cavalier, and Rock-ola, and adapter is included at no additional charge when ordered with LED Strips.  This is done so a strip with a common connector can be installed/stocked in many vendors.
